Katherine Heigl has opened her mind about being raised in an environment that was a "white bubble" and how that realisation has impacted how she raises her adoptive multiracial children. The actress from "Firefly Lane" spoke to the media that it didn't matter the color of her skin for her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted sister, she noticed the differences in the way people were treated by her. In my interview, I asked Meg about how she was treated while out in public, either regardless of whether we were with our parents, she said it was different. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" This made me realize I was so ignorant," Heigl said to parents. According to the actress, she grew angry. But, she was determined to channel her anger into helping the girls she adopted. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son who is married to her 13 year old husband, Josh Kelley. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009. Adalaide is a Black 8-year-old girl who was adopted by the couple in 2012.
